A scissor lift is an elevating work platform used to give people and equipment access to raised areas.
In reality, scissor lifts function like a type of aerial lift, however, OSHA has not defined them as such. In fact, according to OSHA, aerial scissor lifts fall under the provisions set for scaffolding.

This can also aid in reducing re-position moves reducing the chance of tearing up sod, making large ruts, etc.
